“We live in a world surrounded by millions of images and they become a part of our subconscious. This sheer volume of imagery tends to overwhelm our everyday perception and appreciation of the world and it is up to the photographer to distill it and simplify it for us.
Each of my images has a history contained within it that may never become apparent to the viewer. The images contain the invisible presence of the past that came before us. The passage of time is apparent within them, and each one only captures a small segment.
I capture the movements and moments within the frame, in front of me. Everything has been pre-determined within our subconscious mind. We struggle and attempt to control what we show to others and are constantly aware of the power and effect of this very powerful medium, photography.”
I have never set artificial boundaries in my efforts at creating photographic images. I do not believe in the sanctity of a singular process or material. Over the years I have made a concerted effort to push my own technological comfort zone in an effort to increase my range of expression.
